The Windows edition uses native ARP, ICMP, TCP, reverse DNS and neighbour information. The Linux package installs its Nmap-based discovery engine and required system dependencies through the package manager.

Authorised use only: Scan networks you own or are explicitly authorised to administer. Windows elevates temporary-IP changes; Linux authenticates privileged Nmap and temporary-IP operations through PolicyKit.
